“Bilbao 2008, a Space Odyssey”, such could have been the other name of this new celestial urban opera imagined by Luc PETIT.
After ‘catching the moon’ at La Louvière, it was this time on the moon itself that all the inhabitants and visitors of Bilbao were invited to discover a show drawing its sources of inspiration from Georges Méliès, Hergé, Stanley Kubrick or even Jules Verne.
A magical fire organ and an immaculate giant, fantastic characters and fanciful astronauts, a luminous scenography, percussion and Olantes stars, an aerial ballet and a grandiose fireworks display took place in a space that can accommodate 25,000 spectators, and whose configuration was reminiscent of a crater.
