Internationally recognized artistic director, designer, and stage director. He has notably collaborated with world-renowned artists such as SHAKIRA, Jean Paul GAULTIER, Jean-Michel JARRE, Emeli SANDÉ, Arturo BRACHETTI, Gérard DEPARDIEU, Alicia KEYS, and Katy PERRY.

His background and career began in the world of cinema, advertising, and television, including the studios of the Regional Television station in his hometown (Notélé). This extraordinary, multimedia creative has imported a nearly cinematic writing style: his shows are designed as 360° immersions into an oversized filming set, where actors, special effects, soundtracks, choreography, acrobatic feats, stunts, and pyrotechnics emerge…

Luc PETIT has, among other things, directed the DISNEY CINEMA PARADE in Paris, the opening ceremony of EUROFOOT 2000 in Brussels, and the inauguration of the ALTIRA HOTEL in Macau with actor CHOW Yun-fat, for Franco DRAGONE, who has called upon his talent for many years, notably famous for his creations for CIRQUE DU SOLEIL, Celine DION’s Las Vegas show, and THE HOUSE OF DANCING WATER in Macau.

Among his creations, let’s also mention a magnificent Indian wedding in Venice with guest performances by SHAKIRA and GOTAN PROJECT, as well as the show DISCOVERY OF A NEW WORLD in Harbin, China for WANDA GROUP. He also oversees the casting for STORY OF A FORT LEGACY OF A NATION in Abu Dhabi.

He carries out projects for NESPRESSO, BNP PARIBAS FORTIS, PROXIMUS, ORANGE, THALYS, and BESIX. He designs two events for AMWAY China incorporating video mapping, water fountains, major magic acts, and performances. In collaboration with FILMMASTER EVENTS and under the artistic direction of Marco BALICH, he imagines a show in Ukraine on a floating stage in the center of a lake. Later, he organizes an incredible aquatic show for TELENET with high-diving performers. Luc PETIT also brings the iconic Cinecittà studios back to life by presenting a Roman parade in the fabulous movie sets and a dinner-show featuring singers Emeli SANDÉ and Alicia KEYS. In Lebanon and Florence, he organizes grand receptions enhanced by the presence of Puff DADDY and Katy PERRY.

Very active in Belgium, he imagines and produces the opening ceremony festivities of Mons 2015 – European Capital of Culture, and a sound and light show in Bastogne, as part of the 70th anniversary commemorations of the Battle of the Ardennes, for which he, alongside Tempora, receives the Exceptional Event Trophy at Cannes. In June 2015, he directs INFERNO, the opening show for the Bicentennial of the legendary Battle of Waterloo, an impressive spectacle performed on a 170-meter stage rising from the middle of wheat fields, bringing together 300 re-enactors, around 50 horses, and 250 artists.

At the EuBEA 2015 festival in Seville, these Bicentennial events win 8 Awards, including Best European Event, Best Cultural Event, and Best Artistic Director. At the Hougoumont Farm, Luc PETIT creates the scenography of a multimedia room and brings to life the battle between Napoleon and Wellington through projections on three massive mobile bas-reliefs.

With Michel TEHEUX, he creates the non-profit organization LES NOCTURNALES, which develops heritage operas aimed at highlighting architectural gems anchored in the collective memory. The NOËL DES CATHÉDRALES tour and LES FÉERIES DE BELOEIL are some examples of his imaginative work. In December 2019, the non-profit organized the fabulous show LES ROUTES DE LA LIBERTÉ for the 75th anniversary commemoration of the Battle of the Ardennes. This show was awarded the Gold Elephant Awards in the Education category and the Silver Elephant Awards in the Best Cultural Event category by the Jury of the Bea World Festival 2020.

Luc PETIT has also created urban operas, such as the famous DÉCROCHER LA LUNE, whose sixth edition won the Thea Award for Best Exceptional Event in Los Angeles. He directs the underground video mapping show ORIGIN at the Han Caves and parades, one dedicated to Jean Paul GAULTIER in Montreal, under the artistic direction of Danielle ROY. Together, they managed the artistic direction of the outdoor segment and street arts of the JUSTE POUR RIRE festival for several years.

Luc PETIT and his team also conceptualized a musical inspired by the story of PETER PAN, combining dance, singing, acrobatics, light shows, and videos: the largest video mapping show for arenas, which continued its journey with a world tour and was praised by hundreds of thousands of spectators in Europe, as well as in Dubai, Doha, Singapore, and Taipei.

Accompanied by an international team, Luc PETIT designed and successfully created a unique permanent show in Qingdao, China. Entitled QING SHOW, it is inspired by the Chinese folk legend of the Eight Immortals. This show was hosted in a specially built theater.

In recent years

Luc PETIT co-signed the scenography of the exhibition The Little Prince Among Men and staged the Folkloriales of Namur and Bastogne, as well as the open-air shows: Little Red Riding Hood and Pinocchio in the sumptuous setting of the Beloeil park.

In August 2022, the Tournai director takes over the Parc du Château de Belœil, with the show “Pinocchio”. A revisit of the famous tale by Carlo Collodi, with more than 60 actors, 9 scenes, spread over more than a kilometer of route. A show of 40 performances for a total of more than 17,000 spectators.

In September 2022, the director Luc Petit was rewarded for his work in restoring heritage by the Walloon Federal Government, which elevated him to the title of Knight of Walloon Merit during the 2022 Wallonia celebrations.

The end of 2022 and the dawn of 2023 will once again see the tour of “Christmas of the Cathedrals”. This time, two shows will be presented simultaneously: “The Fight of the Angels” and “The Christmas Hourglass”. This tour will notably pass through the cities of Lille, Brussels and Namur.

In March 2023, Luc Petit offered a new show in the city of Liège: “The Carnival of the Animals”. With Luc Petit as director and comedian Bruno Coppens as scriptwriter, this show demonstrates a technical challenge: the suspension of a giant mirror allowing the reflection of images projected on the ground. This show brings together more than 20 dancers and 130 costumes as well as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège – co-producer of the show.

To celebrate the 800th anniversary of the presentation of the Charter of Freedoms, Luc Petit is staging the folklore of the city of Wavre: “The Game of Jean and Alice”. Through a mapping created for the event, more than 400 volunteers and artists are bringing this show to life on Place Cardinal Mercier.

The summer of 2023 marks the return of the annual show at the Château de Belœil. This time, Luc Petit is staging his vision of the tale of “Peter Pan”. A multidisciplinary, hour-and-a-half-long traveling show, it brings together more than a hundred artists and 23,000 spectators in 57 performances.

“La Nuit des Dragons”, produced by Avant Que L’Ombre ASBL, took spectators on a journey into the fiery and legendary world of dragons at the Château de Rixensart.

The year 2023 was also closed by the Christmas tour of the Cathedrals. This time, Luc Petit’s new creation, “L’Arche de Noël” was performed in the cathedrals and churches of 3 Belgian cities: the Saint-Martin Church in Arlon, the Saint-Paul Cathedral in Liège and the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Tournai.

The beginning of 2024 was marked by the grand return of the Carnival of the Animals, this time at the Cirque Royal in Brussels from March 7 to 10.

On July 6, 2024, in collaboration with the Belval Fund, he staged the multidisciplinary show Métal Sonore as part of the Fête des Hauts Fourneaux in Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg.

Luc Petit staged Jules Verne’s novel Around the World in 80 Days at the Château de Beloeil. From July 25, 2024 to August 18, 2024, more than 100 artists, volunteers and technicians worked to bring this story to life. 26,000 visitors attended this show in more than 70 performances.

The fall period was marked by the show “Le Secret des Dragons” in Tournai with nearly 3 weeks of performances, but also by the return of the Carnival of the Animals which was performed, this time, at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Charleroi. 4 performances were performed in one weekend.

The month of December was marked by the participation of Luc Petit in the staging of the show “Texas Aggies: Into The Battlefield” in tribute to the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. This took place at the Mardasson Memorial in Bastogne and required the deployment of hundreds of volunteers, artists and technicians.

To close the year 2024 and start the year 2025, Luc Petit staged two shows simultaneously: Le Petit Prince de Noël and Le Combat Céleste. The first was performed in Liège, Namur, Tournai and Arlon; the second was performed in Huy and Ath. A total of 54 performances were performed for Le Petit Prince and 21 for Le Combat Céleste.
