The Château de Modave and Les Nocturnales offer “From Modave to Versailles”, a show for young and old in the castle park. Directed by Luc Petit, this show will address the link between the castles of Modave and Versailles.
After several cancellations, the non-profit association Les Nocturnales is happy to be able to offer a new event. “It’s been difficult lately to be able to put on a show, but we’re back. We cannot accommodate as many visitors as we have already done, but at least we are sure of not having to cancel at the last minute” returns, relieved, Mélanie Verscheure, producer at the non-profit organization Les Nocturnales.
The show will be organized in the park of the Château de Modave from August 13 to 22 and will have as its theme the link between Modave and Versailles. “The performances will highlight the Marly machine, created by Rennequin Sualem, which made it possible to develop the system which supplies water to the fountains in the gardens of the Palace of Versailles. The creator of the machine had built the same one for the castle of Modave. The direction by Luc Petit will be done with the texts of Michel Teheux,” explains Mélanie.
“The goal of our non-profit organization is to highlight the historical and cultural heritage of the places where we go. We will also discuss the past of the magnificent site of the Modave castle and the nature reserve which surrounds the Vivaqua water catchment,” adds the producer. Organizers collaborate with professional artists and local associations to create their immersive shows. Comedians, aerial acrobats, fire throwers, jugglers and dancers will unite their art to bring the public into the game.
Between 250 and 300 people expected on site
For 7 days between August 13 and 22, the artists will perform two performances per date. “For our first time at Modave, we are going to do two performances per day. This will allow us to welcome between 500 and 600 spectators combining the two performances, i.e. a maximum of 300 people at the same time to remain covid-safe. We will begin the reception at 9 p.m. and the first show will begin at 9:30 p.m. for a duration of 40 minutes. The second performance will begin at 10:30 p.m.,” announces Mélanie.
Places can be reserved on the website www.nocturnales.be or at the Modave tourist office. Tickets are €8.50 for children aged 2 to 12 and €12.50 for adults. Entrance is free for children under 2 years old. “I think people will be happy to see an open-air show again, it’s a good way to go out with the family because the show is suitable for all ages,” concludes Mélanie Verscheure. In the event of heavy rain, the organizers will be forced to cancel the show but tickets will be postponed or refunded.
